About Me

Gabrielle Maisels is the playwright and performer of  The Two Girls Cycle – two solo shows, Two Girls and Bongani, inspired by her family’s experiences in South Africa. Gabrielle studied Political Theory at Harvard and Columbia, acting with Carol Fox Prescott, improv with Artistic New Directions and playwriting with Matt Hoverman.  Favorite New York theatre work includes: Agnes in Tony Kushner’s A Bright Room Called Day, Esther in Kushner’s Terminating, Rocky in Men of Clay (Off-Broadway, with Matthew Arkin, Danton Stone, Steven Rattazzi), Rebecca in In the Voice of Our Mothers. New York workshops include Pete Smalls (screenplay reading, with Peter Dinklage, Sam Rockwell); Pushkin (reading, with Daniel Sunjata, Jake Robards, dir: Erica Gould). Film includes The Great Pretenders, dir. Jeremy Cohen, Now Forager, dir. Cortlund & Halperin.
